"Pangea"

Artist: Josué Beitía.

Prize: 2nd Special Section.

Cost: 170.000 Euros.

"355 million years ago, there was one continent: Pangaea. A few million years later, that large landmass fragmented into the continents we know ;Africa, America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Antarctica.

Each of these continents has had its own geographical development and evolution, thanks to communication systems and globalization. Each of them has shared the best of their acquired knowledge to enrich the others.
The human mind is restless, capable of blending knowledge from different continents and creating extraordinary fusions that are now part of our daily lives. Some of these fusions are quite crazy, such as gastronomy, celebration, music, politics, sports, or technology. The goal is to bring a smile to someone's face, even if it may sour their senses."

Europa "Europe is like a collage of history, art, science, traditions, and, at times, a touch of chaos. It is a continent that has witnessed great intellectual revolutions, such as Greek philosophy, the Renaissance, and the Industrial Revolution, while also being the epicenter of wars and disputes that changed history.
It is a blend of the ancient and the modern: on one hand, we have the ruins of Rome and medieval cities steeped in mystery, and on the other, the capitals are at the forefront of technology, art, and fashion. Europe is the cradle of universities, capitalism, and democracy."

"In a way, Europe is like that wise friend who has many stories to tell, but sometimes gets too bogged down in the details. Europe contributes a lot to humanity, but also faces internal challenges regarding identity and unity.
Europe is a continent that makes you feel like you're learning and taking a nap at the same time. Europe is culture, history, good food, and a few discussions about who did this? All in one place... and with a glass of wine, in case you get tired of listening to enlightened people recounting Europe's history as if they've lived a thousand years!"

Oceanía "At this point, you might be thinking that instead of a falla, we've established a travel agency and a world tourism office. You can think what you want, but I want to talk to you about Oceania now.
Many islands make up this continent, such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Papua, and Hawaii. They all have a wide variety of animals in common, but there's something more important: they're all connected by the Pacific Ocean."

"As I've said before, Oceania's diverse animal species deserve to be highlighted. There are koalas and kangaroos; the crocodiles there are 'dandies.' Kiwis come in two forms: those that hang from trees and those that walk on two legs. And a native Tasmanian devil that scares no one. All the underwater ones are missing, but enough of so many animals has arrived; it seems like a criticism of the municipal falla.
From Oceania, we can continue to highlight its natural landscapes and its coral reef. Cultures like the Maori. Rugby and surfing are sports. And in architecture, we must highlight the Sydney Opera House as a symbol of identity."

"The water temperature has risen, and the fish aren't what they used to be. In this school of fish, you'll see that no one is sane.
If the water temperature continues to rise, instead of diving, we'll do infusions.
There are two exceptional lakes in the world: one in Torrevieja, south of Alicante, and the other, much further away, in Western Australia.
Hillier is the Australian lake, and Alicante's is the Laguna de la Mata. Its main characteristic is its pink color. They say that a bacteria that comes from the sea is what gives it that unique color."

Antarctica "Antarctica, the frozen continent considered the coldest place on the entire planet. Despite being frozen, all the world's powers want to dig in and try this ice cream. Antarctica is not a continent where humans can live, but there are laboratories where scientists conduct research. Antarctica is home to species that don't exist anywhere else in the world, making it a unique biodiversity reserve. It's a whale sanctuary, where whales are protected from hunting. Although Japan, under the guise of research, ignores this protection, leaving the whales unprotected.
Now for the serious part. The enormous reserve of ice plays a vital role in the global water cycle and could have a significant impact on sea levels if it were to melt rapidly. Rising temperatures in many regions, including the coldest ones, like Antarctica.
As the surrounding ocean also warms, the warmer waters are melting the ice shelves that extend over the sea. These shelves act as a natural "brake" that holds back the great ice chains in Antarctica. When the ice shelves melt or weaken, the ice masses on land begin to move more rapidly toward the ocean. If you want to continue enjoying the beaches, it's up to us to make sure the water level takes many years to rise."

Asia "Asia is the largest and most diverse continent in the world, with a history spanning thousands of years. Asia, with its ancient wisdom, has taught us Zen, a way of life, which in Valencian means: 'relax and don't do evil.' If you've ever felt stressed by modern life, Asia has the answer! Pour yourself a green tea, sit in silence, and think about what really matters... (lunchtime).
Asia's contributions to humanity are very important. We start with the wheel, a Mesopotamian invention. From China, the compass, gunpowder, paper, and the dollar store. Rice from China is important, but Valencian rice has better grain. From India, the number zero, spices, and the decimal system. From Japan, sushi, robots, and the digital age. In terms of sports, China has Kung Fu. Karate and judo are from Japan. Cricket from India and Pakistan, where the English influence must be felt.
Asia being the origin of great civilizations, religions and philosophies, remains a key region in the political, economic and cultural developments of the world."

"Messages have evolved with globalization. At first, we sent pigeons, and now with just the touch of a smartphone button, we can see and hear you anywhere in the world.
The world has become a huge bazaar; you can find everything. Ask for whatever you want and pay, and even if it's Sunday, they'll deliver it to your doorstep."

"With a desire to experiment and become the most highly regarded chef, our meals are becoming more and more fused, to the point of cooking truly outrageous dishes."

"In this truck, you'll find a wide variety of fusion dishes. Don't panic, be brave, order your dish, and take a stomach protector."

Catalonia "The smallest continent, which by its size, is the one that makes number seven. With its president exiled, it was the first continent of Pangea to declare independence."

África "Africa is the cradle of humanity. Yes, in fact, you were born here too. We are literally all Africans, with a little extra evolution! Africa gave birth to us, and as a MOTHER we should respect her, but without knowledge we only want to exploit her.
Rhythm, mathematics, delicious food, and ancestral wisdom are also born in Africa. With the sound of drums and these ingredients, you need nothing else to enjoy life."

"From Africa are civilizations as important as the Egyptian one, with all its legacy. Pharaonic works like the pyramids, which challenge the most advanced architecture, mathematical calculations, and calligraphy, we have also inherited from the Egyptians.
And now, let's talk about animals. As everyone knows, the largest ones live in Africa. Here we'll name a few: lions, hippopotamuses, rhinoceroses, giraffes, and elephants. They all respect Africa and its life cycle. Remember the word RESPECT, you humans."

"Unfortunately, this scene is necessary to expose the entire management of DANA

América "America, the land of opportunity. Europeans accidentally stumbled upon the American continent. Thinking they had discovered it, they invaded it as if it were their own.
Much to the chagrin of Native Americans, this invasion has fused cultures that have brought many benefits to humanity throughout time.
As much as Trump would like it, those who live between Mexico and Canada are not just Americans. From north to south of the continent, all its inhabitants are Americans."

"From America comes corn, coffee, cocoa, and chocolate. Modern democracy, traditional medicine, and the use of medicinal plants. The concept of the American dream. Hollywood movies and musicals. Fast food menus and the NBA. Tango, salsa, bachata, and reggaeton. Independence and the fight for freedom. Pre-Columbian architecture and the tallest buildings. The scientific revolution, technological advances, the internet, NASA, and cartoons. And so I could go on until the day of the cremá."

"Flat-Earthers claim that the world is flat, that it's impossible to roll down and stay still. As expected, we've outdone ourselves in Valencia. Here we have the Flat-Fallers, multiplying in number by the number of people in the Casales."
